This page will tell you how to go to the Temple area. Temple is called "Temple of Hera" or "Heraion". There are also other Hera temples in other Greece Islands. Some of them are better preserved but none of them are as big as Heraion of Samos.
By Bus
You can go near temple area by local bus. Choose the bus going from Pythagoreion to Irion. Ask the driver or conductor where to jump out from the bus. That is the same place where to jump in to the bus. There are around 500 meters walk to temple gate. If you plan to use the bus on your way back, take the timetable with you. It is much convenient to wait that way. :)
The ticket cost something between 1-2 euros for adults.
By Foot
You can, but ... If you know what you are doing that's fine way to go to the Hera Temple. It is "just" six kilometers from Pythagoreion. During summertime that is far too much for most of us. During Autumn and Spring that is not bad at all, presuming that it is not raining.
Guide Tour
Good choice if you have money to spend. It is also very convenient way to go there and guide can tell you more about history and details of temple. Temple of Hera might be part of inter island tour and with same money you can see much more than just the temple. There are a lot of other interesting and historical places in the Samos island.
By Taxi
Take a Taxi from Pythagoreion or from Irion. The price will be around 10 euros when using the night tariff. Samos taxis use always night tariff (tariff 2) for tourists. One option is to ask (and negotiate the price) taxi driver to wait. Another option is to call taxi from the gate when you are leaving. If you live somewhere else than Pythagoreion or Irion first go to Pythagorion by bus.By Bus
